Getting support and reviewing updates
For questions about how something works, or about a record on your screen, ask the AI assistant in the right rail. For bugs, data imports, and anything the assistant can't resolve, contact the BayEngine team directly. There is no ticket portal; you work with the same people who built the product.
Ask the AI assistant
The AI assistant button at the top of the right rail opens a chat panel that works with your shop's real records. It can look things up ("what's still unpaid on this invoice?"), explain what a setting does, and make changes for you ("add a shop supplies fee to this repair order"). It knows which page you have open, so "this repair order" and "this customer" mean the record on your screen. You can type or dictate.
Two guardrails are worth knowing. The assistant reads on its own, but every change pauses as an approval card in the panel, and nothing is written to your shop until you approve it there. It also works under your login, so it can only see and change what your User Permissions allow.
If the panel says Setup needed instead of showing a chat, your shop has no Shop AI Connection, the shop-owned AI provider connection the assistant runs on. There is no settings page for it yet; contact the BayEngine team and we'll connect one with you.
The assistant can't fix bugs, restore deleted records, or run imports. Those go to the team.
Contact the BayEngine team
Support is direct: text, call, or email the BayEngine contact your shop was given at onboarding. That channel covers bugs, vendor and inventory CSV imports (we run those with you, as the onboarding guide describes), account problems your Shop Administrator can't resolve, and anything that needs undoing that the app won't let you undo yourself.
The Onboarding, Documentation, and Support chat buttons at the bottom of the right rail do not open panels yet. Until they do, this knowledge base and direct contact are the support channels.
Report a problem so it's fixed in one pass
When something breaks, send enough detail that we can reproduce it without a follow-up round:
- What you were doing, step by step
- The record involved: the RO number, customer name, or invoice number
- What you expected, and what happened instead
- A screenshot of the full screen, including any error message
- Whether it's blocking work right now (a payment you can't take) or just wrong
If it happened earlier, say roughly when. Mention your browser and device only when the problem is visual, like a button that's cut off or a page that won't scroll. A screenshot beats a description every time.
Keep up with changes
BayEngine is a web app, so updates apply on our side and there is nothing to install. Reload the browser tab and you are on the current version. Features and fixes ship continuously rather than in numbered releases.
There is no release-notes page in the app yet. We announce notable changes directly, through the same channel your shop uses for support. The Release notes and known limitations reference in the Reference and Updates section of this knowledge base is the planned home for a running list of changes and current limits. Until it exists, each guide names what isn't built yet on the feature's own page, the way the onboarding guide ends with "Not built yet".
